DMZ - 4th Birthday Bash - Mass, Brixton

Many people will have been in attendance, many people will have missed out, many people probably couldn't give a damn, but if you were present at the DMZ 4th Birthday Bash last Saturday you will know that what you experienced was something really quite spectacular.

Hundreds of people travelled from all corners of the British Isles and even from foreign lands to be a part of the 4th year celebration of DMZ and to support those that make it possible every time an event is put on.

Just from standing in the queue, I overheard that 4 guys had travelled especially from Denmark for the weekend and from what I have read on certain forums people came from even further away still.

Mala said on dubstep forum that "DMZ" is "unity of people through sound."

I think a lot of people would agree that this is the best way to look at the effect DMZ has on a crowd.

Best set of the night was easily Oneman Vs Kode 9. The mix-up of old school garage alongside the dubstep coming from the other DJs and the exceptional mixing left everyone smiling for the entirety of their set.

For Joker's debut set he went back to back with fellow Bristol head, Pinch and they most certainly smashed the place apart. 'Digidesign' on the Mass soundsystem was a definite highlight of the night.

Everyone smashed it, its hard to distinguish certain moments that stood out as so many did!

I have some pictures of my own currently getting developed in Boots, but for the meantime I shall attempt to give an illustration of the night through Ashes 57's very apt captures.
