Chemical Records is a brand always looking to do things a little different. The Bristol based shop that started out stocking only records is now holding serious weight in terms of 'streetwear' clothing. In a bid to market this clothing to their target audience they have ignored the standard marketing strategies and went at it with something fresh.
In this their latest project Chemical have combined the clothing they stock with their favourite artists. Since the start of the year they have been filming artists from the dubstep and drum and bass scene.
Video lookbooks is an obvious next step up from print but what Chemical have done is involve some big name and up and coming artists to perform whilst wearing current looks. This is a great way too reach out to a specific audience.
So from a customers point of view you are getting an exclusive performance and a good look at the clothes in real life form.

But i dont see this pushing forward the sales of clothing to anyone but a bunch of teenyboppers.

Really great idea. I think qith some slightly better brands and some better artists it could be pulled off amazingly.

bobble hats and check shirts is a shit look if you take it out of the street context. against that white background the MCs look like dweebs.
Nice idea by chemical records but they should have thought of something more original rather than assigning to the check shirt and bobble hat trend.
