I was first introduced to Dunhill about 6 years ago when I thought they were just a cigarette company, back then all i knew was that I really liked the logo. Fast forward a few years later and I picked up a Dunhill shirt that fit me like no other, it honestly felt tailored. Since that first shirt i've added another couple, one being bought from the Mayfair shop just a few weeks ago. The latest shirt is interesting as you can see the influence Kim Jones has had on the brand since taking over as Creative Director .....
This book by Nick Foulkes for Dunhill is a great read for anyone interested in the history of Dunhill. The book chronicles the path Alfred Dunhill took to becoming one of the most sought after English designers in history...
Making his name from designing special products for motorist he quickly developed into an entrepreneur and set about inventing quintessential British products with the highest level of quality and craftsmanship. From the 1880's to the present day Dunhill have stuck to their principles and for this reason I can see Dunhill being around for another 100 years...
