100 Minutes of Havana

This March sees the return of Havana Club’s 100 Pieces initiative which brought artists last year from around the globe together, to create pieces inspired by Havana Club, Cuba and its diverse culture and heritage. However this time around Havana Club join forces with the Secret War crew for ‘100 Minutes of Havana’; a live, one-off art battle at East London’s Village Underground.

Following the success of ‘100 Pieces of Havana’ in 2008, the artists are returning for round two as two teams go head to head in a live 100 minute art battle. Each team will create their very own, unique interpretation of Cuba using only coloured acrylics and Edding pens on a 16ft high by 70ft wide white wall. The freestyle masterpiece will be created without the help of sketches or pencils, no one can predict what the final piece will be; keeping the pressure and crowd anticipation high.

‘100 Minutes of Havana’ will feature 10 acclaimed artists from diverse creative backgrounds, ensuring an eclectic and electrifying show. Fans will recognize some of the names from the 100 Pieces initiative, whist there will be new faces from Monorex, the crew behind Secret Wars. The fusion of different styles and inspirations will ensure an interpretation of Cuba that has never been seen before, reinforcing the vibrant energy and passion that Cuba is so well known for.
