Future Coffee Table Books

I'm a big fan of art based books. whether it be photography, graphics, fine art or graffiti. A lot of them are very interesting and also make for the perfect coffee table pieces for that big house we all pray for in the future.

So when ever I see updates of a new book dropping via hypebeast, I tend to get mad pissed that I cant walk into many book shops within London and source them out as easily as maybe I would like. Although it is possible as we have a few cool stores such as magma, but i guess im just to lazy to actually look hard and venture out.
neither am I big of a fan of buying books over the internet due to the fact I cant get a glimpse of whether the majority of that particular book is shit or not.

But shit is about to change within the commencing weeks and months many of the books considered art, urban or street wear orientated will be rolling out into a few of our street wear stores within London. I beleive The Good Hood have started stocking one or two books. (correct me if im wrong)

but here are a few books we have to look forward to.

BOWERY BOYS

In most cases, a photographer achieves his notoriety by the ability to capture the essence of his subjects through the lens. In Keichii’s case, his photography draws you behind the lens, providing entry into a world that is distinctly his. It captures an attitude and feeling that is unmistakably unique and can be accurately described as “Keiichi just being Keiichi.” Keiichi’s photography takes us on journeys through eroticism, sexuality, beauty, decay and everything in between. His life, and his work, resonantes with the excitement and exuberance of youth. His zest for life is evident in every single one of the photographs in his book.

JACK WALLS - ADA
Art, Culture, Collage, Photography

ADA is the title of a photograph Robert Mapplethorpe took of one of Jack Walls’ friends. It is a striking portrait; beautiful, mysterious and unyielding. Jack Walls remakes this single Mapplethorpe photograph into ninety-three ADA variations. Each collage is a beautiful composition on its own, but in the aggregate the collages have power as a meditation on how we
look. The pieces are about altering perception using an existing artwork as a starting point.
These collages don’t work through jarring juxtaposition but through repetition and variation. The same beige-colored newsprint peeking through, the same image, the same size. But in each one the photograph is reworked, reshaped, remade. The effect is complicated. Walls’ ADAs
works in both ways: to enlarge, examine and reanimate the Mapplethorpe photograph and to use it as one element in wholly new art.

FUCK THIS LIFE - FATAL
Art, Culture, Collage, Design

Fuck This Life started in 2005 by Weirdo Dave. It is the ultimate ‘zine about aggression, escape and attitude. All killer no filler. Each issue is like watching your boss getting their ass beat real good. Fuck This Life is sensational and hysterical in both senses of the words. This Fall O.H.W.O.W. is proud to announce the release of, “FATAL” a collection of Fuck This Life at its best. A visual rescue when life gives you its worst. It is a masterpiece of beauty that is as tantalizing as it is hypnotic. Its for killers not cowards.

Not a fan of that Bowery Boys, had a good look though it awhile back.

This whole Terry Richardson style (not that he invented this style either) has got well boring. Shocking for the sake of shocking = milked!

Theres also plenty of stores in London to cop decent books just gotta go deeper than the surface.

Nice post though brother.

Haha you went man Lego. Glad you seen your error.

I suppose its a good documentation of that scene but i just hate the whole 'here i am with my cock out and here's more naked girls'.

'Back Door' and 'Front Door' are the books you want.
