Wellgosh turns 21

Remember the time when you used to travel to that independent streetwear store out the way to pick up your exclusives. Before the internet, before hypebeasts and before re sellers wore suits. Well I do and one of the stores that educated me was a store called Wellgosh in Leicester.

The 20minute train ride from Coventry to Leicester always seemed like hours because you'd be so excited to get in there. The set up of Wellgosh was really like a sweet shop, as soon as you walked through the door your eyes would dart around like a meth head. You'd know your friends you rolled with would have clocked the same 'newly in' item and you'd spend the next hour convincing him you should own that latest kick and not him. The great thing about Wellgosh is that they'll alway have plenty more stock 'coming soon' that would make you 'llow your friends and sit tight.

The shop Wellgosh always employed the right staff, staff I fully respected and still do. When I worked in Kong a similar store in Coventy but not quite on their level all the staff their would always speak highly of Wellgosh. It really was one of those old school stores but with a very forward thinking mentality.

On the 28th of this month Wellgosh will celebrate its 21st birthday and whoever you are and whatever you're into you must admit that thats a great feat for a Streetwear store...
