...was HUGE!!!
Birminghams streetwear scene isnt sayin a great much, without Ians store it wouldnt be saying anything.
The night started slow with a few 'heads' milling around waiting on something to kick it all off.
The Vinyl is Crew took to the deck at about 10....coming with some chilled beats mostly grime instrumentals. Heads began to nod and girls began to shock out.
There was a smell of anticipation in the air with the news of a big arrival...
Next thing you know the doors fly open and in strolls the london contingent....70 street savvy heads from london pon da venue. The entrance was huge but was ruined by Goldielocks who pushed her way to the deck and proclaimed she was on NOW...yeh whatever MOOOVE!
When she did play her mixing was lacking a tea spoon but her beats were good.
Seb Chew, Blaise and Oneman killed off there sets and had the venue going insane...with the cov heads in the building the 'you what you what' chants began, props to Seb who dropped Mc Bones into his set immediately. Hold tight for all these guys playing in Coventry real soon.
Highlight....Blaise Belville
Lowlight....A brief period when the 'man dem' just came through to srewface.
On the whole the night was BIG, it was cool to see some of the extended family in attendance. What wasnt cool was not bringing your camera. Witts didnt make that mistake so expect pics from him soon.
Big props to Ian and the Trapstar heads...keep the game/scene moving ya hearrrr!
Word to A.IN.T crew, Aaron from Accrobeau, Kesi, Posta Boy, Brey, Rob, Kevin and 'Team-tings' who are all doing big things.
Peace
