After a dismal rainy day in Birmingham I arrived in an equally wet Coventry at around 11.30 and proceeded to the new venue for Vinyl. Meeting Ollie on the door I ventured inside. Greeted by a busy large venue and the normal crowd minus a few youngsters here and there as security had been tightened up.
Taking about 20 minutes to acclimatize and get used to the atmosphere I reached for my weapon, I mean camera and started snapping.
Ed n Dom were pon macle and it was business as usual..
Up next were Bok Bok and Manara, I must say some seriously nasty tunes got dropped in this set, had to stop and have a little skank to a few, a slips on the mixer here and there but all together a nasty set from the Londoners.
Then Resident Elliot stepped up, again coming with some heavyweight tunes. Got round to dropped one of his own beats that was bad! It got me screw facing!
Check out that concentration face (Counterstrike 4)
Oliver took centre stage next with the usual mix of old skool garage and bassline then finally the set I had been waiting for, Innersence coming with a dubstep set.
The last hour was pure skanking, the camera was put away and the gun fingers came out. Bounced around like a cunt for the next hour even with the fire alarm attempting to ruin proceedings Innersense carried on like a bad man dropping banger after banger, A serious performance for his first ever set in a club! Playing a Vinyl only set, putting the realness into the Vinyl is name and nearly smacking Bok Bok in the face for reloading one his tunes (only cause he slipped and scratched the vinyl) everything was cool after though.
After party antics were mental, Ollie needs to invest in Marmite (or i'll bring my own next time) and the matress' were a big look.
A most enjoyable night, some manic dancing from the residents of Coventry. Definitely a more professional look for the Vinyl is crew with this new venue.
Big tings!
Also big up Emma working the cloak room shift, provided great conversation towards the end of the night and appreciated our team work shifting every ones jackets and bags back out. Also Lucy Alper for embracing dubstep and getting her Dubstep jig on. Finally, Greg the only person getting as stupidly excited to Innersence as me.
No big up for Duracell as my flash gun batteries ran out before the end of the night..
Back to Brum for 2pm for a haircut followed by Turkey roast dinner.
Pictures:
Hold tight the laser breathing boy, the lighting system was serious!
