The Red Bull Music Academy lectures have been going for a fair few number of years now and have travelled all around the world bringing work-shops and various other learning experiences to hundreds of audiences.
The academy provides superb oppurtunities for those who are deeply involved and hold a strong desire for music and musical production. With many big name DJ's, producers and musicians being selected to lecture a very fortunate audience each year, The Red Bull Academy is a once in a life time experience for all involved.
If you have a spare hour or so during your day when either you're not at work or there's nothing on the television to watch, grab a drink and sit back and enjoy the heaps of lectures archived on THE RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY SITE
I have chosen 3 of my favourites. However there are stacks more fantastic videos which you can watch and judge for yourself. From Benga, DJ A-Trak, ?uestlove, Cut Chemist, Goldie, Madlib, Phonte, Chuck D and MJ Cole I am merely scratching the surface. The only negative aspect is that sadly a number of the videos say they are 'coming soon.' But they have said that for months if not years now.
From Melbourne 2006 - Skream
From Barcelona 2008 - Bun B
From Barcelona 2008 - Mala

that journalist in the skream vis is a proper bellend though
I know what you mean.
It's extremely awkward at certain points and Skream doesn't look like he wants to be there.
She comes out with some of the worst comments and questions.
skream has got a crack twitch
skream and mala are the hardest
i was lucky enough to attend a bunch of the melbourne 2006 lectures, the standout being Just Blaze.
at the time seeing his arrangement of Jay-Z's Show Me What You Got was a big deal as it had only been out for a couple weeks and he broke it down for all to see. there were literally hundreds of layers on that one track.

i reckon i would be exactly the same if i was sitting in front of a bunch of wankers being interviewed by a hippy..
Word CWD about the Just Blaze video.
I'm not really sure why I didn't post his lecture. But he is definitely one of my favorite hip-hop producers and that vid explains why.
He is definitely up there with some of the greats and has probably one of the best ralph lauren collections i've ever seen!
loving the mala vid
these are gonna keep me entertained for a long time
Big up to the Red Bull Music Academy!
I was lucky enough to be a participant at the 2008 barcelona academy... best 2 weeks of my life!
When else do you get to ask Chuck D any question in the world you feel to, jam with Sly and Robbie in the studio and hear stories from the Beastie boys producer about smoking crack and ending up head first in a dustbin..
If you are a musician you need to apply this year!
