The Stussy store in Covent Garden closed its doors for the last time yesterday. Their stock can be found in The Hideout for the foreseeable future, but the question still remains....Whats happening to streetwear in London?
All the best to the man Judah and all the other people that made that store what it was.

Thats a shame. Only 'streetwear' store in london that was worthwhile.
I look forward to some independents taking advantage of the absence of competition and coming through now the big boys have fallen.
Hope the staff go onto bigger and better things!
dam shame
hold tight everyone at stussy
Definatly gonna miss it.
how come it closed?
went in once before i wasnt too impressed!
What were you expecting?
damn shame man!
staff were actually cool aswell.
what is going on with streetwear in London?
first bond now stussy. who next?
Ollie do a store down there!
nows the time!!
arhhhhhhh for fuck sake, what a liberty!!
Actually im not that surprised, it was in the oddest location, no one could ever find it. deep tho
odd location? Thats defintly not why it shut mate
It was in a very central and easy to find location you mug!
I saw this with my own eyes today, gutted.
Location was fine, people were fiiiine.
Not good at all.
Hideout will close soon..
It'll all be under one roof.
^
yeah i thought this was gonna be the original plan, as a source told me waaaaaaay back . . .
all the shops were to be closed during december . . .
and then they were gonna make a super store with 3floors and shit
will just have to wait and c
^
Old news. Im only interested in facts now!
Another one bites the dust...Another victim of the credit crunch. The saga contiunes.....when will it end
one of the staff told me that there not sure yet but they've been told they might open the store somewhere else
Isn't there loads of Stussy in Slam?
This is particularly shite because Hideout or the Stussy Europe website possibly won't get any future limited edition stuff that was exclusive to the UK store (ie. the Japanese Harringtons etc).
shame. good store, location was perfect, don't know what annons are bitching about. Streetwear in London is just taking a blip, it'll be back. But I think you gotta buy more consciously now, look for the hidden gems.
Worst global recession in modern history... Pricey chinos and ltd edition lumberjack shirts seem to be dropping off people's 'essentials' list.
NICK LEWISS!!!!!!! ESSAY WRITERS NOT WELCOME!
yawn
^^^ why you here then you tit
Stores online seem to be the way forward but are they? Never the same as good old shop.
Not too surprising really. the people have spoken - overpriced flash flagship stores ain't where its at right now.
just the way the world works
Sad to see the shop go. Again another case of landlords asking for crazy money in this current climate. Gonna miss the guys in there esp Jude, Chris and Dom. Covent Garden is going down the pan! Nothing to bring people into the area now.
Stores moving online is the forward insofar as you don't have to pay (anything like as much) rent.
The rent for a commercial property in central London, especially Covent Garden, must be astronomical.
tiz a shame but such is life, they'll be back in a new location when the shit dies down...
