Babylon is the title of Gerry Judah's exciting new solo show.
Flowers East, 82 Kingsland Road until 2 January 2010.
While Babylon derives inspiration from biblical stories and such works as Breughel's 'Tower of Babylon' these paintings present imaginary broken landscapes, reminiscent of modern, war-torn cities, with their stairwells and satellite dishes, shot through with wiry networks of communications systems. Judah responds to the images of war and natural disasters, which have increasingly become part of modern consciousness - he constructs the skeletal remains of buildings to present their impact on urban landscapes.
Gerry Judah’s works are featured in many major public and private collections, including the Saatchi collection and the Imperial War Museum.
All of the works in Babylon are available for sale.
