Jacket Required

I passed through the Jacket Required trade show yesterday, to check out some of brands showcasing new product. Some of the brands exhibiting included; Anything, Carhartt, Dockers, Edwin, Garbstore, Gourmet, Maharishi, Penfield, Pointer, Porter and more.

With some serious outwear peices on display, quality denim and whole heap of Mens accessories, the vibe was of a more mature and very English nature. A perfect example of how the menswear industry has grown up and moved on from printed tees and hoodies over the last few years.

Still for me on a personal note, Anything and Carhartt were stand out brands. After being very disappointed with the quality of some of the Anything peices last season, it definitely seems like they've stepped up their game and the smaller details that seemed to flaw the AW 10 collection, are long forgotten.

Carhartt was on point as ever, drawing deep inspiration from their vast heritage. For SS 2012, they have gone right back to the begining, using labelling, buttons and rivets from the Railway overalls that made founder Hamilton Carhartt a millionaire in his day. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to photograph any of the peices, but there might be a sneak peak in the follow up video..

Here's a few pics of the show..

Stay tuned for video summary coming soon.
