Fader TV caught up with Harlem's ASAP Rocky. A lot of rappers seem to spring out of nowhere these days and generate stupid buzz without any real substance and are gone as quick as their appeared. I've got high hopes for ASAP, hopefully he can sustain the movement, I don't know what it is about Harlem based rappers but they always come with a fresh take on things. Harlem has always had strong associations with the South, and ASAP certainly has been inspired by a whole heap of acts from below the Mason–Dixon Line. I suppose that it was only inevitable that the South's strong hold on rap was going to influence a new generation of rappers up north.
