BNTL - Evisu 20th Anniversary Make The Rules

Early last month, I had the privilege of working with the good folks over at Evisu on their 20th year anniversary exhibition entitled 'You Make The Rules', which you can learn more about (here)

Videographer Tatyana Alexandra was on video duties capturing the evenings vibes to fullest for BNTL.
Art was on deck, sushi was on deck and drinks was on deck. I couldn't have asked for a better night.

INSA X Evisu

Over the past month or so, I have been working with Evisu on their 20th year anniversary exhibition titled "Make The Rules".
A number of established artist contributed various pieces of art work for the mile stone exhibition. One of the particular artists involved was main man, INSA who created this wire frame and custom made denim play suit titled the "Button Down, Back Up"
With that said I will allow INSA himself to tell you about his creation.

This fully custom made denim playsuit is crafted from authentic Evisu selvedge Japanese denim. Hand bleach printed with my classic ‘Graffiti Fetish’ pattern. Double stitched, double layered denim construction, steel buttons and whale boning give this delicate feminine form the strength, toughness and durability of any serious piece of workwear.

I worked with the amazing garment specialist Miss Melody MaKer to produce this one off. Even though this is a piece of art to be admired in its own right, a piece of denim desire that does not need to be worn, it has been tailor made to fit one person and one person only, rapper and role model Miss Nicki Minaj with the slightly unbelievable measurements of 36-24-45.

I worked closely with my good friends at JAIL MAKE Studios who hand forged and welded this rigid steel framework, that is then mounted on steel rods that are sunk deep into a thick oak heart shaped base.

This November, premium denim brand EVISU is teaming up with world-renowned artists, denim collectors, fans and friends to host a stream of celebratory EVISU 20th Anniversary Make the Rules party extravaganzas globally. EVISU is hosting the 20th Anniversary Make the Rules Exhibition Party in the infamous East End of London, Shoreditch, to celebrate its 20 year journey of glory within the denim world.

To get you involved with their 20th anniversary, EVISU is looking for artists to design a piece of artwork that shares the understanding of what it means to 'Make the Rules'. They invite you to express the theme and demonstrate your understanding of the phrase through your own style.

The 20 top-rated pieces from all of the entries will be showcased at the EVISU 20th Anniversary - Make the Rules Exhibition Party on the 8 December 2011. An overall winner will also be chosen.
As the winner of this competition, your artwork will be showcased as a Don't Panic Poster. 80,000 copies of your design will be printed and distributed throughout the UK in December. In addition to this, you will receive £500 worth of EVISU merchandise and your work will be taken on tour to the Far East together with the 19 runners up.

The competition will open on the 4th of November 2011 and end at midnight GMT on the 4th December 2011. All entries can be shared through social networks to gain votes.
