Well what a weekend!
The decision was made late Thursday, with my driving lesson switched and a space in the car will Ollie, Greg and Trav. I was going to reach Bristol.
I finished work and headed straight for Coventry, arriving around 6.15 we hit Burger King for some much needed fast food and headed to the car.
Drink driving to the next level (Don't worry it was only a few sips for refreshment):
The road trip begins, our first stop to the off licence for some essential Red Stripe, then a stop off at the petrol station for another essential amenity. With the sat nav locked we headed for the motorway. Jokes and tunes, a Plastician podcast was our sound track and boy did it go down well. Back seat, front seat and driver skanking. All the drinking an excitement got too much for Elliot and a lay by toilet break was made. Trav was more than happy to show off his essentials, to the delight of everyone else (not), when he had finally decided to put his goods away we jumped back inside the ride and put the pedal to the metal!
The lightening show as we headed in Bristol was sick and the rain worked wonders for Greg's un-cooled engine. We luckily met up with Sofi at a traffic island and coasted to the Donuts store where the party had already begun...
The Trapstar boys already inside, Aaron, Gwilym, Jack and the Donuts crew. We cracked open a beer, well apart from Trav who opted for a neat Jack Daniels and before we could chill and check out the merchandise we were heading down to Tube for the party.
A short 5 minute walk and we were at the club, Mr BNTL himself rolled up with his road trip crew and we ventured inside. A tidy venue, narrow corridors, sofas and a reasonable dance floor. We copped our first draft beers of the day and chilled.
Trav had love for the bar staff:
Fats rolled inside the club and the photo shoot was on. Styled by Jack Cannon, unexpectedly I was handed an A.IN.T tee and told to get involved, I wasn't gonna say no!
After the shoot was done it was time for the party to really begin, the drinks were flowing the second coach load of Londoners arrived and things really got into swing. Acyde brought the tunes on the decks, but my favourite had to be Tomb Crew. Came in with some dubstep, garage and jungle. The T-Rex skank as its now known was in full effect, my cap was knocked off various times during the madness, carefully placed back on my head by Matt the first time (many thanks) but after that I had to fend for myself. Blaise was up next, again with the dubstep and jungle another big set and some more ridiculous skanking...
The Londoners left leaving the venue a little under populated but he party went on, we finally touched down back at Sofi's around 5.30 and hit the floor hard, quite literally. Ollie claiming the only sofa, Elliot, Greg, Trav and I were left with the floor. I sought refuge on the rug and stole a pillow for some comfort, I didn't manage to get too much sleep though.
Woken at around 11, Sofi was already opening the shop. Ordering us a cab and we soon followed suit. Arriving at the Donuts store with a chance to check out the merchandise this time I was pleasantly surprised by the decoration and and the stock (big up the wall paper on the ceiling).
We convinced Sofi to shut up shop for the some brunch so she took us to the Boston Tea Party. I ordered the full English breakfast and a glass of orange juice and BOY! did this hit the spot. Organic sausages, apple something or other bacon, free range scrambled egg, beans and granary toast. It was amazing! Big up Trav opting for two bottles of Orangina instead of food..
Greg in need of refreshment:
Trav drew for the Orangina:
Finished:
Sofi departed back to the shop and we went on a exploration of Bristol, spotting some dope graff and art, we were drawn to the "Seven" store, Ollie noticed the girl in there was outside Tube the previous night conversation was started whilst the rest of us joined in with the banter and checked out the stock. A tidy layout and very friendly staff resulted in some pick ups. I got me a DQM camo snap back and a Polo Ralf Lauren check shirt both I am very happy with. Trav also parted with some cash copping a King Stampede crew neck, big move!
Tourism:
Next we hit up 50-50 skates and another store which I cant remember the name of, all very cool and friendly stores. BNTL love's Bristol!
We popped back to Donuts, chilled for a while. I hit up the off license once again we said our goodbyes and then we hit the road! A little less energy on the way home but still a very very dope Friday and Saturday!
Big ups to everyone in attendance, in particular: Sofi, Trapstar, Greg (driver), Ollie, Trav, Elliot, Matt, Jack, Aaron, Gwilym, Tomb Crew, Sarah and Brey (sorry if I've forgotten anyone)
Random shots:
I think this is the pic of the trip though, Travs toilet trip on the motorway which lasted at least 3-4 minutes
