After confirmation of guest list I left my house and arrived at Adderly Street at around 11 o'clock, followed the instructions for the second night in a row to gain my wrist band and was successful this time, finding my name on the guest list twice.
Heading in to the Venue, consisting of the "Stage Bus" outdoor stage, the Rainbow Warehouse and the out door beach..
Checked out the Warehouse first, TNT & Vytol were playing to a reasonable crowd and it seemed like the rig in the warehouse was finally being used to its full potential. Popped into the Dubstep room to thank Emile for the granted guest list and observe the "electronica" being played by the DJ in there at the time, definitely not for me! Checked out the beach which was basically the chill out area and headed back in for the drum n bass.
After half an hour or so I strolled outside to check the Stage bus and found Boogie Dave playing a dubstep set with a live PA from "Daddy Freddy" I'd never heard the MC before but his powerful and political vocals went down well with the dubstep and the drop beats crowd. Boogie Dave came with the bangers played the best set I've ever heard from him! A brief chat with him after and he told me it was a set he'd remember for ever thoroughly enjoyed!
I then headed for the Dubstep room to catch the rest of Emile, the serious tunes and innovative mixing as expected from the Eardrum resident.
Then back into the main arena for PCM and then Twisted Individual (hosted by MC Biggie), thoroughly enjoyed this set and the night as a whole. Up next at 3am was Phase 2 and DJ Escape playing an old skool jungle set, I grabbed a few pictures and headed home(due to an early start in the morning).
Could the Sunday night have pulled the weekend up to meet its expectations? No, but it was still a good night, which is something you can always say after a Drop Beats not Bombs event!
Big ups Emile, Boogie Dave, Taharka and all Drop Beats Staff.
