Bigger than Barry

Another instalment of Birmingham's favourite fat ass, Barry was back and this time in school uniform.

Bobby playing early and drawing some serious riddim, "Lips to da floor" had me skanking sideways. An absolutely heaving night as usual, enormous selection from Rattus Rattus who seemed to play for an eternity! Taharka and Obvious drew for something different with a live PA.

Shouts to the Barry boy's, Size crew, Veezey and Klose One.

In summary Barry was Super-heavy-weight.

For the pictures all the Birmingham heads have been waiting for....

I dont get the hype. The DJs mixing is shocking pure GASH mixing like beats not even in time. The crowd tho was enjoying them selfs listening to Heartbroken & Rolex then they stick on a dubstep DJ which cleared the warehouse. Dancefloor GONE. The barry crowd want Benga & Coki Night or Rusko thats it, what there trying to gain by putting dubstep DJs on peak time I never know.

You should be more honest with your reviews fam. instead licking batty cus your soon to slag of next mans dances when they ent to your taste but hype up Barry events.

have you ever thought about working for tillate.com?

In repsonse to Zman Barry isn't about the mixing or the seriousness of the DJ's even Klose one and Rattus Rattus will admit they are party DJ's. They may clang the odd mix but they are there to provide tunes for people who want to have a good time and not go out and chin stroke in the corner at a certain mix or double drop.

I had a very similar opinion to you when I started reaching these events. Coming from a drum n bass back ground if a DJ's mixing wasn't perfect I'd think it was poor set, but Barry isn't like that they put on a party for people to have a good time.

I'm biggin' up Barry cause it was a big night. If you were there you would have seen the crowd having a great time. Yeah the mixing wasn't great but none of the DJs are claiming to be Andy C!

I'm not into all of the music at Barry (although I'm coming round to it). I go because everyone's up for a good time, plus I like to mix it up, not everyone can like everything but it's good to keep an open mind and go to different things or you get bored! X x x

oh and I thought Bobby's mixing was the best i've heard it for ages and Rattus Rattus had some great tunes (what was the massive one he dropped after Cockney Thug!?) but used too many reloads..

Glad to see you coming around to the dark side Witts soon you'll even enjoy Naked Lunch!

it's a shame u gotta drop heartbroken or night to get the crowd going at bigger cos it's always so big but to be honest theres still way more people having fun and dancing than at a london night

At girl above. I take it you have been to EVERY London event with a comment like that?

err it's true everyone knows the london club scene is super over saturated, that's not a controversial thing to say, why are you so ready to take offence on behalf of london? it's the sad truth. the vibe in clubs outside of london is incredibly different.

also what a ridiculous thing to say. of course i havent been to everything ever, but most people tend to form their opinions without playing god and experiencing everything in the world, ever, but just experiencing and searching for a lot. why even say that?
