British artist Roger Hiorns makes exceptional use of unlikely materials, the latest work for Hiorns is an unexpected sculptural form that is housed within the four walls of a South London housing estate. The piece entitled Seizure transforms regular urban housing into a large-scale sculpture.
The blue crystal lined walls, floor and ceiling are the result of 90,000 litres of bright blue, saturated copper sulphate solution placed in a metal tank filling the volume of the bedsits interior, the liquid was then cooled and drained leaving behind the crystalline forms.
I will definitely be checking this one out, hopefully they will allow camera's - the photo opportunity is too much to miss.
