He's Back...

Cracks number one child DMX is back. And his coming out with GOSPEL ALBUM (I know I fell off my chair and dropped my bowl of milk to when I read it to)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

But moving on he recently done a interview for XXLmag where he came out with funniest shit I ever heard . . .

Are you following the presidential race?
Not at all.

You’re not? You know there’s a Black guy running, Barack Obama and then there’s Hillary Clinton.
His name is Barack?!

Barack Obama, yeah.
Barack?!

Barack.
What the fuck is a Barack?! Barack Obama. Where he from, Africa?

Yeah, his dad is from Kenya.
Barack Obama?

Yeah.
What the fuck?! That ain’t no fuckin’ name, yo. That ain’t that nigga’s name. You can’t be serious. Barack Obama. Get the fuck outta here.

You’re telling me you haven’t heard about him before.
I ain’t really paying much attention.

I mean, it’s pretty big if a Black…
Wow, Barack! The nigga’s name is Barack. Barack? Nigga named Barack Obama. What the fuck, man?! Is he serious? That ain’t his fuckin’ name. Ima tell this nigga when I see him, “Stop that bullshit. Stop that bullshit” [laughs] “That ain’t your fuckin’ name.” Your momma ain’t name you no damn Barack.

So you’re not following the race. You can’t vote right?
Nope.

Is that why you’re not following it?
No, because it’s just—it doesn’t matter. They’re gonna do what they’re gonna do. It doesn’t really make a difference. These are the last years.

But it would be pretty big if we had a first Black president. That would be huge.
I mean, I guess…. What, they gon’ give a dog a bone? There you go. Ooh, we have a Black president now. They should’ve done that shit a long time ago, we wouldn’t be in the fuckin’ position we in now. With world war coming up right now. They done fucked this shit up then give it to the Black people, “Here you take it. Take my mess.”

Right, exactly.
It’s all a fuckin’ setup. It’s all a setup. All fuckin’ bullshit. All bullshit. I don’t give a fuck about none of that.

We could have a female president also, Hillary Clinton.
I mean, either way it doesn’t matter. I don’t care. No one person is directly affected by which president, you know, so what does it matter.

Yeah, but the country is.
I guess. The president is a puppet anyway. The president don’t make no damn decisions.

The president…they don’t have that much authority basically?
Nah, never.

But Bush pretty much…
You think Bush is making fuckin’ decisions?

He did, yeah, he fucked up the country.
He act like he making decisions. He could barely speak! He could barely fuckin’ speak!
Can’t be serious. He ain’t making no damn decisions.

Well Barack has a good chance of winning so that might be something.
Good for him, good for him.

Hipster: The Dead End of Western Civilization

A little cheeky article I came across in Adbusters titled,

"Hipster: The Dead End of Western Civilization"
Image Hosted by <span class=

I think by the title you get the drift of the article already,
to read it for yourself just (click)
Well worth the read if your not to busy.

Just to entice you here is a extract i found to funny

"In many ways, the lifestyle promoted by hipsterdom is highly ritualized. Many of the party-goers who are subject to the photoblogger’s snapshots no doubt crawl out of bed the next afternoon and immediately re-experience the previous night’s debauchery. Red-eyed and bleary, they sit hunched over their laptops, wading through a sea of similarity to find their own (momentarily) thrilling instant of perfected hipster-ness.

What they may or may not know is that “cool-hunters” will also be skulking the same sites, taking note of how they dress and what they consume. These marketers and party-promoters get paid to co-opt youth culture and then re-sell it back at a profit. In the end, hipsters are sold what they think they invent and are spoon-fed their pre-packaged cultural livelihood"

(no indirect towards anyone, because I "lego" will be the first to admit I look for the photos which would have been taken at a event I attended the night before)

FUCK IT DEFINITELY READ ITS TO FUNNY

Film Review -Princess Mononoke

I've finally got my DVD collection back. And while I was checking none had been jacked by my little brother, while he was dvd-sitting I came across (another) favourite of mine...

pm1

Princess Mononoke is epic. Thats the word Harriet used to describe it when she leant it me awhile ago. There was no way i was having that. I said, 'how can a cartoon be epic', her only reply was 'watch it and give me a word that best describes it'.

EPIC!

The film follows a Warrior who has been struck down with a curse that only the Forset Spirit can cure him of. On his journey he meets and falls for the Forest Spirits leader, a girl by the name of Princess Mononoke. Who helps him accomplish his goal.

Look out for the giant wolves and listen out for a great soundtrack. It really is a magical flim.

If you come across any films by Studio Ghibli I recommend you buy buy buy.

"You know we come through to reck the diskoteck"

Dubstep is unfortunately one of those genres where music videos seem to be extremely few and far between.

In the instance of a video release they can either be a major hit or a major miss.
Perhaps more often that not they are a major miss and in some eyes an example of this would be Benga and Coki's Night
The extremely tiresome animation of a multi-coloured, flashing octopus swimming about aimlessly did not really live up to the sheer magnitude of the anthem itself and the intense impact it had in its early days in dancehalls across the nation.

With all that aside I did a little bit of research to find some recent and not so recent dubstep tunes that have either had professional videos made for them or have served as a soundtrack to somewhat fitting edited clips. I have made an extra effort to select an eclectic mix that attempts to showcase a variety of styles from the dubstep scene.

1) This official video comes from Distance with a track called Night Vision. It was released on Planet Mu quite a while back now. It is clear that even back then his style was definitely going to stand out in the ever emerging scene. Nowadays we are often treated to heavy guitar riff samples influenced by huge bands like Sepultura and Pantera. Look out for the release of his album coming in November!

2) Not an official video but quite a fitting selection of monochrome images documenting a journey through a seemingly urban area serves as the back drop to a massive collaboration track between Caspa and The Others. Both sides come together on this tune to provide an absolutely devastating sound that causes mosh pits when ever it's dropped.

3) This gem from Skream has been getting excessive airplay over the past few months especially on Plastician's Rinse FM show. The track in question is 10 Bit Dreams which also appears on the Rinse 06 mix by Plastician as well which is terrific.
The video for this one isn't particularly fascinating nor impressive. Perhaps neither are the others I have featured. But if abstract is something you are fond of then start staring at this one.

4) This next one is another release from Skream called Tapped. This particular version features vocals by JME which I don't think particularly improves the track at all. Needless to say the monochrome approach has been adopted once more which creates a moderately interesting illustration to this gem from one of Croydon's finest.

5) Hailing from Tokyo, Goth Trad never ceases to amaze with his huge releases. His signature style of stomach convulsion wobbles and blackened bass lines comes out in Cut End. Perhaps it could be said that the video by Diagram Design is a slightly obscure accompaniment. But never the less don't let it draw away from the sound.

Ashley Cole Reincarnations

Unfortunately i never had my camera to document this event, so I have been aided by Google images.

Some time last week I was invited to a friends barbecue, it had to be the shittiest thing I had ever been to if i must be honest. Lots of cold pasta, cold jerk chicken and vegetable side dishes (which to me is the worse thing in the world as i HATE veg)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Then you had all these annoying little fucking kids running about in the garden and shitting about like there parents had them on Robinson's diluted crack juice.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

And then on top of that, there where no hot mama's about. I was slyly being deprived, but i thought fuck it I'll stick it out because i was invited by my friend (and a friends a friend)

So I was there in the garden sitting when the next door neighbors mother starts looking over the garden fence at her 2 kids (who had attended the bbq as well)
She waits a bit watching, but eventually comes over and just relaxes. (she was kinda hot if i must say so, myself)

Later on I was about to leave when she approached me and was like
"you leaving already ? nah go in and get me a drink and one for yourself so we can have a little chat outside in private"
I was thinking, alright I only live down the road so i might as well and shes hot, whats the most that can happen except me getting some (m.i.l.f) action.
(DON'T JUDGE ME I'M A SINGLE MAN)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I go get her a drink and then she starts to rabbit on about her money and houses etc, i was just thinking to myself what ever.

I then decide it ain't going no where, so I say I'm gonna go home.
Then she says then goes
"what your gonna go home already or are gonna come to my house and listen to some music and chat with me?"
I was thinking RAAAAAAH okay then (some one wants a bit of the good old lego tonight)
So I went with her and her two kids to her house which was next door it was to funny, on the way one of her kids was like
"mummy whose this man coming into the house" she was like his just mummies new friend. I was thinking to myself yeah kid I'm your mummy's new friend and where gonna go play in her bed when you sleep.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I step in the house and it was nniiiiiize, I enter the sitting room and sit down looking out for photos to see whether she had a husband or boyfriend or some sort of love attachment but never found nothing.

So I thought everything was cool, she then puts on some saucy RnB tune and I'm thinking nahh wheres my old school hip-hop I had asked for.
She goes
"i hate old-skool" and starts dancing in front of me bum flicks and all of that video hoe stuff, but I weren't complaining.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

One of the kids then comes down and the mother switches, which causes her to drop something on the floor. Then when she had got them out of the way into bed
she returns and decides to pick up what had dropped in the sauciest way possible.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

(bearing in mind shes wearing some short mini skirt) Giving me a full view of what was under the skirt.
As soon as this happened, I knew I was in there just like when former president Clinton first chirpsed Monica Lewinsky inside the white house, this time it was the BLACK house and lego was running things.

She then leaves me alone in the sitting room for a minute, so I take the liberty of going close to the window just to check outsides darkness but doing that what do i see on the window ledge ?

all these congratulation on your wedding cards . . . i was like
WHAT THE FUCK SHES MARRIED !

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I couldn't believe it fucking hell, she then came back when I realized her wedding ring.
and then one of the kids was like "whens daddy coming home?"

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

As soon as those words were dropped I knew then it was time to make my escape out of that house. But every time I tried to leave she would be like nah don't leave please.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Lucky enough I managed to escape when I strategically managed to call one of my boys and ask him to call me back at a certain time so i could lie and say i was going out later that night with him.

Now i don't normally share my saucy activities with people I know, let alone blog them so for future love interests don't be afraid, I just felt some one could learn of this situation of mine. Be careful who you marry they may just be some next reincarnations of Ashly Cole A FUCKING CHEAT have a nice day.

Ben Frost, Crapitalism

Last night i was invited to the private view of the first uk solo show by
Ben Frost, which was represented by No Walls Gallery. For those of you who have never heard of Ben Frost.

SNV30116

He is artist from Sydney most well known for his confronting and often controversial Pop Art paintings. Using a ‘collage’ style of unlikely juxtapositions, his dynamic paintings are complex mash-ups of popular culture that savagely critique our media and advertising obsessed society.

Some of you may have heard of his
now infamous 2000 exhibition and art prank ‘Ben Frost is Dead’ which saw him fake his own death and was branded ‘tasteless’ when the art world and national media actually believed his demise.

NOTORIOUS

It would seem that enough time has gone by for it to be acceptable for us to start reminiscing fondly of all things 90s. As you know I am a full on supporter of the revival but I am not so sure about this.

Check the trailer for the B.I.G film due for US release 16.01.09......

Should they have left this one alone....Thoughts?

What Clan do you rep?

I'm reppin' Black Watch to the fullest.

Most of you are probably trying to work out what post code i'm talking about or what new timepiece i'm looking at buying but actually i'm talking about my favourite tartan pattern at the moment.

Black Watch....

blackwatch

The name Black Watch started out as a nickname for the 42nd (Royal Highland) Regiment on Foot way back in 1881.

The history isnt that exciting but keep your eyes peeled next time your stubbling through the streets of suburbia as i'm seeing its populartiy grow.

I have a shirt from St Micheals (probably bought in the 18th century) which is falling apart so if you know of anywhere selling this particular check then let me know.

Breakthru: Shy Fx, Marcus Intalex & Lynx

Another instalment of Breakthru, on arrival I was informed Shy FX wouldn't be playing due to illness but Randall will be filling in, after listening to quite a bit of 36 Chambers material earlier in the week I wasn't disappointed and began anticipating the militant beats Randall was gonna bring.

Med Bar took it's time to fill, but by 12 o'clock a healthy crowd bounced around the dancefloor as Lynx stepped up. Billed as a live I was expecting an Ableton based Mac set but instead it was purely CDs and live vocals from DRS and Kemo. Not normally a fan of MC's DRS and Kemo smashed it, with Lynx drawing for plenty of diversity and minimal tunes to showcase the vocal talents I was hugely impressed.

I mingled in and out between Dan B and Marcus Intalex awaiting Randall at 3. Outside was something very different, dubstep with a live drum beat. Surprisingly this worked very well, the DJ was playing plenty of Skream and well known dubs and the drummer did a great job creating a live pulse to all of the tunes...

As 3 o'clock came I went back inside eagerly awaiting Randall. Straight into the mix with Fozz hosting, coming with a sound of drum n bass no one else can replicate, smashing through dubplate after dubplate. Drawing for the Congonatty remix of Babylon - Splash I was jumping about like a cunt I'd been dying to hear that tune all night! The hour went by quickly skanking on my part was a lot.

Randall in the mix

Fozz

Big up Randall!
