Catfish

A few months ago I was invited to the preview screening of a film called Catfish. I checked the trailer and it looked quite decent, a few friends had also recommended it so I headed down and gave it a go.

Firstly this isn't a film, its a documentary. Secondly, this documentary was one of the most intense piece of film I have ever saw. Your emotions get battered all over the place, at times you laugh then straight away you're hating yourself for laughing. At other points you can hear people crying in the audience and fully understand why.

The documentary follows the relationship between two people that began online and their friends who decide to record everything as a kind of social study/lets see what happens project. Along the way things start to get more than weird but what comes at the end will leave you astounded.

I suppose what needs to be said is that this is real, no actors, no story board, no script just some film makers who got lucky with full access on events and people that you could only dream of...

I believe this film is in all good cinemas now.

"The story, all names, characters and incidents portrayed in this production are fictitious. No identification with actual persons, places, buildings and products is intended or should be inferred."

The fact that you did not see that matters not. Lying/misrepresenting filmmakers such as they are are not going to come clean in the credits.

Watched this last night and wasn't fully amazed and/or disappointed, but yes, this has to be fake right? From what i've read today, it seems so
