PRIX PICTET - GROWTH

Prix Pictet is an international photography prize, aimed to raise awareness for global sustainability issues. The premise of the prize is to set the worlds photographers with producing a response to these issues. Prix Pictet has just started it's third prize cycle, under the theme of 'Growth' following on from the previous themes of 'Water' and 'Earth'.

The content of submissions varies widely from photos of rapidly expanding cityscapes to empoverished wastelands.

The cycle of 'Growth' will consist of a global tour to New Delhi, Milan, Madrid, Dublin, Thessaloniki, Dubai , Gstaad, Eindhoven, Berlin, Moscow, Lausanne
& London. The winner will be announced in Paris in March, and will be awarded a cash prize. Subsequently another competing photographer will be set a commission, where-by they visit an area of the world and document the problems facing the local inhabitants/landscape.

To accompany the prize, a book has been produced containing work of the 12 shortlisted artists, including work from Edward Burtynsky, Mitch Epstein, Stephane Couturier and Christian Als.
And we have one copy to giveaway to one BNTL reader, to be in with a chance of winning the book, simply send your name and address to info@bntl.co.uk.
