ASAP ROCKY - LIVELOVEA$AP Mixtape

Girls, tonight just call me the iPod filler (wink wink)
For my 3rd and final mixtape blog for this evening, I present to you ASAP Rocky's long awaited mixtape LIVELOVEA$AP.

Like I said yesterday I have been fiending for the drop on this one for a hot minute now, the dude and his crew lit up the stage when I was in NYC this summer at Fools Gold. The internet has been buzzing ever since this video dropped, like wise there's been a bit of a reaction from hip hop fans with regards to the number on his contract (3 million dollars for those that don't know)
It's now officially time to see if it was money well invested by Sony.

Download and pump this sh*t (HERE)
If the above link is to slow download from (HERE) instead.

Conversations with my Conscience : The London Riots

Conversations with my Conscience is an exhibition series that focuses on current affairs of political or social interest. To launch the series we will be focusing on the 'riots' that had a ricocheting effect across the country in the summer of 2011.

313409_10150867904770182_509410181_21506257_1332133654_n

Many theorists, professors and journalists have projected extreme reasoning and over the top solutions to this recent unrest, but have failed to listen to the people involved, who witnessed and lived it.

Two months down the line and it's as if nothing ever happened.

15 artists, designers, writers and poets create a visual conversation exploring the events that unfolded during the four days of mayhem, challenging the voyeur to question their own opinions.

Shouts out to the amazing designer, extraordinaire Abi Wright
who has curated this exhibition.

Private view - Thursday November 3rd.
6pm - 9pm
Location: The C.A.M.P 70 – 74 City Rd, London, EC1Y 2BJ

Frozen Planet - Canada Goose Parka

Canada-Goose-small

Last night saw the first episode of the BBC show Frozen Planet, a pretty amazing nature program led by David Attenborough. The animals and nature and stuff are pretty interesting, but what was more impressive was the overall choice of outerwear. North Face's are decent, Woolrich is good but the truly remarkable coat of choice by near enough all the team is the Canada Goose. Drake had a little collab going on with the brand of his home nation last year, which you probably missed like the rest of us.

Butterz

©SHAUN BLOODWORTH 2011

Having first met Elijah in 2008, it was always evident that he was going to carve a distinct niche for himself in a scene that was flawed in many ways, Grime lacked leadership and individuality, especially where the business end of things were concerned. Having been a part of the early developers of Grime Forum and developer of the more interesting end of the grime blogosphere with Butterz, Elijah would go on to partner with University pal Skilliam, to give the genre a distinctly new sound and more importantly some much needed direction. They've gone on to climb the Rinse ladder and are next to drop a much coveted Rinse CD. The Butterz team have redefined how to put out a Grime record, from the artwork supplied by David Kelly, to the videos they put out to promote the records. Working with the likes of Swindle, Royal-T and Terror Danjah, Butterz have changed the Grime landscape where others bitched, moaned and ultimately failed to progress in a world in which progression is at the very heart of great dance music.

A lot of individuals have started blogs, flirted with music journalism and seen it as the easiest thing to write about, Martin Clark however is in a league of his own when it comes to documenting the scene. His Pitchfork column is by far the best recap and insight any voyeur of London's Grime and Dubstep scene needs for an overview of what's happening there within and the varying apertures in between. Martin also has one of the best blogs around under his DJ moniker Blackdown and alongside Dusk has created some of the best atmospheric music in that scene while also building his own label Keysound Recordings.

Who better placed to catch up with Elijah and Skilliam than Martin? Martin writes the sleeve notes for each Rinse CD and what followed fis an incredibly in depth four part interview with Elijah and Skilliam. Check out PART 1 and PART 2.

Live At The Loft - AFTA1

Last week I think it was, producer AFTA1 blessed the good folks over at Live At The Loft with a special in house set. How I wish I was in attendance you'll never know.
I been following AFTA1 from way back when people where still trying to find the perfect myspace layout/background.
For those not familiar with AFTA1, he's a Californian electronic producer, who pretty much makes them relaxing laid back ambient easy on the ear beats. His been doing his thing for a minute now and I've seen the progression in his music from his first mixtape Aftathoughts vol1 to, FORM and to his most recent offering Grey a collaborative effort with vocalist Nikko Grey.

Peep the video and listen to
the audio of his full set from the show.
