The man behind the Desert Boot for Clarks died at the end of June.
The obituary in the Telegraph is well worth a read. Originally created by local trademen in Cairo's Old Bazaar for British officers of the Eighth Army. Clark was inspired by the design and upon is return from serving in Burma during the Second World War and would go on to create a shoe that would be adopted by a broad selection of youth movements over the last few decades.
