YES YES you are right mr anon, my description was lazy... apologies. SO plaid, gingham, flannel, checks, tartan....patterns consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours.
Tina its seems like most trends these days.....we rinse the hell out of them. Ive put my flannels aside for now but hope to draw for them in a season or two, gingham is a strong look but again i can see it getting rinsed already.
I think plaid is worn by alot of people but i dont think its lost its worth. It hasnt been a trend that has been picked up by high street honeys up and down the country in contrast to most trends. Almost everyone in a certain fashion rocks it but it still retains its attachment with that specific fashion(s)
IMO everything is ok as long as you dont look like a dren. The meeks with one button done up at the top are an example of looking like drens. otherwise i think most people look good. hold tight gingham, tho
DREN had been handed to me from my 16 year old bruvva (hold tight my IOD man dem)and has stuck. I like it. It took over from meek and has been consistent as an insult.
Suppish? What defining contribution have you made in the world of fashion? Are you rocking some completely unique stlye that the world has never seen before? Do you make a difference?
Or is it more a case of hating for hates sake, and just a bit to much time on your hands? Let the people wear what they like i say, my time is focused on working towards creating something new.Not just for me but a generation, whether this year or the next or the next. Unless your looking to do the same id hold them pigeon hole views back cos they hold no weight here.
tanone is a gee! he speaks the truth! besides - its only plaid out if you are worried about what everyone else is wearing. otherwise you can still be unique if you wear it in your own way. everything you do has been done before and will be duplicated again. just don't imitate/spectate 'n' hate...
plaids !! a watever kind of thing .. i rather not see it!! but when done well its really hot , on the other hand when done wrong some one shoot me! lol
who would have thought plaid was so controversial hahaha
Plaids, ginghams, tartans, houndstoothetc, where here from way back when. Please do your homework before you make such a statement. Only dumb "streetwear" kids would say such a thing. Americana and british casual culture will always influence trends, even when ya dead and buried.
Tan, course you dont know who i am, im one of your thousands of blog readers?! ?!. ...this is why i said sorry in advance, cos i could see this is a topic close to your heart (for some reason) and your bound to get sensitive and start throwing around insults like some grime MC. *contains laughter*
anyways. i used the rope chain as a COMPARISON to how plaids could go from popular to dead out. i never asked if you wore one. i dont care if you wore one. read and understand before you get mad.
as for the new era, vans comments, i CATEGORICALLY STATED "you scene kids" ...'KIDS' PLURAL. im sure your not the only scene kid in london tan. dont take everything so personal.
I don't understand why some people are getting all defensive over their checked/plaid/whatever shirts as if the post was a direct attack at them. She didn't even SAY it was played out she ASKED if it was. Wear your shirts same ways even twice in a row if you want (I saw some sexy guy do that last week) no one CARES.
why are some people getting twisted over this post...which clearly asked a question?? my question is P who have you had enough of and why are you getting personal over the question of plaid? you need to chill...and mr or miss anonymous "dumb" streetwear kid!!! tut tut come on now...and seriously unless you have made some amazingly signifcant contribution to fashion or trends EVER you should put your 2 cents or 2 pence back in your skinny jean pockets

Considering half the shirts you pictures are gingham and flannel, are my thoughts on plaid even relevant???
no hate but mr or mrs anonymous is right this time...

The question remains, Have you had enough?
JEEZ.

Plaid is staple for me...persnally.

plaid shirts, buttoned up at the neck especially, are a "scene kids" wet dream...
it is plaid' out and annoyingly predictable.
i think its one of them safe bets...
u know...u wana look good but dont wanna seem u tryin hard? fling on the flanel lol.
imo its somewhat a classic.
but Trapstars piece wit the different material on the panel bit was a fresh twist on it.
IMO everything is ok as long as you dont look like a dren.

YOU GOT RID OF ME AGES AGO!!!

No one but Jack knows
It was plaid out 6 months ago. A must for all "streetwear headz" with your GR new eras and slim jeans with authentics. Yawn yawn.
DREN had been handed to me from my 16 year old bruvva (hold tight my IOD man dem)and has stuck. I like it. It took over from meek and has been consistent as an insult.
Not all cats look cute.

Hear hear (S)tanaman.
Preach it Tan.
Im in full agreement!
ok ok....you been fighting without me...who would have thought plaid (umbrella term!) would be so controversial.
All opinions noted, (except the cat one, i frigin hate cats) I may think twice before reachin for the checks, or will I?!?!
I love them personally, BUT its all about mixing it up a bit from time to time.
I've had enough of you that's for sure.
You sound like your chasing trends/fashions.
If you knew what you were talking about you wouldn't make such a silly claim in the first place.
Just stick to what you know cause your clearly not capable of doing anything else. Leave such 'fads' to the likes of us.
Yours,
P

Who has P had enough of!? Haha sounded directly indirect.
Madras and gingham is still fresh for the summer, but it's far too hot for full-blown lumberjack flannel.

What are you talking about anon???
No1 said is was a new phenomonom, we are merely talking about the current trend of wearing this type of garment.
If you've missed it then you must be living in a cave.
PLAIDS ETC, IS ALMOST AS PLAYED OUT AS THE ROPE CHAIN (sorry tan)!!!!!!!!
ONCE YOU SCENE KIDS JUMP ON SOMETHING YOU RINSE IT TO DEATH! (namely vans, stonewash jeans, gold...i'll bligh new era's tho)
I'LL GIVE IT A SHELF LIFE TILL AUTUMN
rinse it while you cannnnnnnn!!!!!
That last comment killed ut.
Cute.
Joshua. I dont know who you are, but i can categorically state i have NEVER in all my life worn a rope chain.
Who do you think i am? As for the vans ive been wearing them since i was 9 and started skating so....Suuhhk out.
Oh and also i never wear hats, let alone new eras.
Finally someone is talking sense.
Thanks Josh!!!!
*points to tanone's display pic*

...the fact still remains anyways.
Im sorry but im not a scene kid. Scene kids don't do things, they spectate and try and be involved. Similar to what your doing now.
sure, sure.
well last time i checked it took 2 to tango.
anyway. all this gassin ain't gonna make plaids any less played out.
end.
HERE HERE!!!!!!!!
*she shouts as she draws for the gingham dress*
DOH!
Anyone can go out and take a picture of a similar item, make it into a collective and say it is played out.
If you like it so much why would you even consider it to be played out? By calling it out you're automatically making it into a negative, IMO.
Everyone and their mum is wearing selveage denim, does that mean it is played out? Are Dunks played out?
Not to be on your back about this, but i believe it is your statement that is played out.
Fail.

Agreed. And cheers on the compliment.
