Stimulus: Chase & Status, Simon Bassline Smith & Cyantific @ Smack

The first time I've ventured to Leamington, with a promising line up and a cheap entry fee, I decided to jump in with Cemtex for a little road trip. Got a call around 10:30 to go meet Cemtex in the car, I did so and we were on our way, everything was going smoothly a short stop off at a Shell garage (first of the night) I used the cash point and Cemtex purchased snacks and supplies.

On we drove into the night, Cemtex knew where we going, and that had to go along a certain A-road which when we arrived at was closed, for an unknown reason but most likely flooding...

Damn, with no sign posting for Leamington I was fearing the worst but Cemtex's head for direction shone through and we soon found ourselves on the way to Warwick town centre, bar a few scares going through MASSIVE puddles on the road! We arrive at our second Shell garage of the night to top up on our fuel supply and ask for directions.

We set off once again and after a few wrong turns arrive outside another Shell garage to find Smack situated around the corner, we see a que so we chill for a while, Cemtex takes his third and final trip to a Shell garage for the evening and we head to Smack.

Still a small que, but we roll in with guest list, well Cemtex did and I had to pay cause there was no "+1" Gay. Ah well it was only £6, Went upstairs after having to clear with security that I was taking a camera into the venue...

Inside plenty of girls, good vibes and tunes. A distinct lack of bass was evident but nothing major. One thing I noticed was people were barging into everyone and me?! not in a malicious way just to get past but what the fuck? people don't do this sort of thing in Birmingham, maybe because of fear of repocution or what but it just isn't right. It was so frustrating on the dance floor and even standing on the side!

Cyantific played well, better that your typical Hospital set with some tight mixing and nice double drops.

Next up was Simon Bassline Smith, pushing the limits of Serato he dropped some massive fresh tunes including Hazard - Machete and Original Sin - Don't be Silly. The mixing was a big gash at times but still a big set from the midlands legend.

Finally Chase & Status stepped up to the decks with an average first few tunes and someone spilling a drink on the decks, Cemtex was wrest less and wanted to go home. Off we went for a pleasant drive back to Brum via the motorway to avoid those huge puddles!

Hold tight Cemtex with the driving & directions skills. I still think you need to invest in Sat Nav!

Pictures are pretty gash, not sure what was going on but....
