Amsterdam Part1

Headed out to Amsterdam over the bank holiday weekend. Land of the more bikes than people (fact), some of the best book shops on the planet and girls in kicks...

You're so right on the girls in kicks thing. It's one of the few reasons my country is the shit. I'm living in London now and am loving it but one of the very few frustrations I have with LDN is that there are not enough down-to-earth girls wearing worthy kicks and graphic parra-like style clothing. (Btw bigup on hitting Lockdown&Viral Radio @ Trouw!)

Just one little thing: ffs dude, Amsterdam is not a land, it's only a mega tiny teeny weeny part of the Netherlands. (Grrraarrrrghghg!) Sorry, I just had to say this, too many foreigners see Amsterdam as an entity whereas it's really just a tourist hub (if not one of the coolest on the planet) that's part of a really laid-back culture. There's more to the NL than Amsterdam y'all!

Damn skippy it is. A'dam is the mother of all mothers but yeah Rdam, The Hague and Utrecht are pretty rad too. They all have some proper (exclusive kicks/books/coffeeshops) stores - and parties. And they're all like 30 minutes away from each other by train. Oh and if you're up for a laugh and would like to experience a different side of Dutch culture, hit Urk; NL's nr. 1 decrepit, druggie infested, satan's spawn ridden, inbred hotspot.
