On the 1st of April, Rustie passed through Pete Tong's Essential Mix Show and delivered one of the most flawless mixes I've heard in some time. Although his inaugural album on Warp 'Glass Swords' received widespread acclaim I must admit that it didn't excite me as much as some of his earlier work on Numbers. He has however always delivered seamless mixes that have you devouring tracklists and scouring the net for rapidshare links. His FACT mix stayed on the ipod for quite some time and this mix for Radio 1 is nothing short of excellent. Rustie provides a great blend of bass heavy cuts and the Southern Rap influence is as prevalent as ever, something which has become synonymous with the Glaswegian. Expect gems from Juicy J, Clams Casino, Hudson Mohawke and Krystal Klear amongst others.
