CARNIVALE! Norman Jay's Good Times @ West Road

Word to your mums! Norman Jay is funkier than a mosquito's tweeter, fact. Sunday's Carnival revelry saw me & some of my nearest reach west to sample the good vibes on offer all for the over-inflated cost of a train ride. Having stayed away from the event for 11yrs, twas dope to be in the co. of carny regulars and old-skool legends Ranks & The Soul Boys... who finger-popped and 2-stepped while I captured the scenes in digital. When Norman's time was up, we slipped the queues and reached the after-party at Neighbourhood before charming the foodies at Westbourne Pk Rd into giving us pocket after pocket full of patties. The curried goat came at a price but was worth every jib

Garm-age on show was garbage but most heads half expect a can of Stripe launched over 'em in the furore of street wandering so I expected little effort from the majority. Unsurprising giving the emergence of sunglasses as 08s high-street must have, were how many gaudy frames were on show. Some get it right, but they clearly stayed indoors all weekend. Still, the day was all down to shacking out, getting gone and.... Good Times
