Baracuta - 'Made In England'

The original Harrington makers, Baracuta teamed up with the good folks from the Rig Out - Glenn, Dan, Antony et al. and let them produce this fantastic style-reel.  I'll call it that, as I hate the term "video lookbook".  This is great, wonderfully shot as always, great A&R and Mr. Doyle styles it effortlessly.  Absolutely kicking myself for not picking up that Baracuta in TK Maxx a few weeks back. I love a Harrington.  Expect even more from the Rig Out camp as they are rapidly becoming the "go to guys" for that more mature and style savvy take on things.  Who needs an agency huh?

The Rig Out and Mother presents - PASZPORT!

The Rig Out chaps are at it again.  This time partnering up with the agency Mother to drop a zine just as the Euro's gets underway. A bunch of great contributions from the likes of Glenn 'Rig Out' Kitson, Neil Bedford on photography duties, Ian Hough who some of you may know as the author of Perry Boys and that man Phil Thornton the bloke who wrote Casuals. This will be good, taking a pop at modern day football culture with some nice casual wear imagery. Get down to Mother on Monday night for booze, footy related folk and a Steel Band covering Joy Division and the small matter of England vs France on a big telly.

Rig Out V

IMG_1188ab_1t

I've mentioned the Rig Out previously. Launched a couple of weeks ago at the Ben Sherman store on Portobello It's finally here and available via their recently launched website. Less audacious in many respects to the previously large, obnoxious and incredibly difficult commute read of version 4. The Rig Out moves somewhat closer to the early versions and can fit in your bag.

I'm not one for hawty tawty fashion press, boring visuals of high-end catwalk brands lauded by the usual swamp-tom of Tumblr loving Dalstonites. The Rig Out is unpretentious, well shot and features the brands I wear and desire to own. It's basically fashion without the fashionistas. Put together by a group of blokes who are very much football and beer as oppose to the swan song of couture, they're about nice clothes and good design. This can be seen throughout the latest issue. It's worth picking up for sure.

While the Rig Out guys were in Tokyo they worked on a nice video for Rapha.

The Rig Out Issue Launch

Rig Out X Ben Sherman

For those that have followed The Rig Out over the last couple of years will be well aware of the publications growth, not only in creative breadth but also in size. The last issue was a monstrous, awkwardly sized issue with barely legible copy and some of the best fashion photography currently available in print. I'm a big fan. I'm looking forward to what this issue will offer, presumably more of the same - the best brands, great locations and contributions from quality writers and artists alike. This isn't any old magazine, it deserves to be pride of place on coffee tables across the land.
