Saturday Night: Faux Real & Tuck Shop

Spent some of the afternoon chillin in town with the company of Blaise, Naz, Ines and Rosie and grabbed some tasty noodles from Eat. I headed home to chill and recover from Fixed.

After I had wolfed down the Asda take-away chicken curry and naan bread, I hopped on the bus heading for the Bulls head Moseley for the August installment of Faux Real.

A surprise call from Greg and we both jumped on another bus for Moseley. Arriving at around 11 and greeted by Rob on the door to which is where we chilled most of the night. After two or so hours of the delights of Hip Hop, Soul, Funk and even some Dubstep from Blacksmile and Co.

Antics in the corridor:

Someone told Olivia it was a secret taboo party..

So Greg joined in

It had just past 1 so Greg and I decided to make our way to Rooties for Tuck Shop. After a short taxi ride we were in Digbeth and inside Rooties, Ben was on deckle and playing his heart out as you can see.

Wrong flash setting:

Milled around, inside and out. Wasn't feeling the minimal techno/house that was being played inside and was eagerly anticipating Greg's set a 3. The time seemed to pass slowly but there were plenty of friendly faces inside to mingle.

Familiar faces?

Anyway 3 o'clock came and Greg stepped up, opting for a deep minimal intro to his set. A huge improvement from last time as Greg worked the deepness in his box through to some bangers it was clear to all he'd been practicing big time and it had really paid off.

Massive, Massive set from Greg last night, the mix from Joker - Gully Brook Lane and Ed Solo - Age of dub (if my memory serves me correctly) was so serious, raping the crossfader the beats were locked perfectly. As the night drew to a close the skanking got even more ridiculous, especially on my behalf...

Serious props to Greg and a busy night for Tuck Shop.

After much deliberation back to Ryan's for the afterparty via the chip shop which actually didn't have any food so we were left hungry.

I need sleep!
