Chemically Progressive

Chemical Records is a brand always looking to do things a little different. The Bristol based shop that started out stocking only records is now holding serious weight in terms of 'streetwear' clothing. In a bid to market this clothing to their target audience they have ignored the standard marketing strategies and went at it with something fresh.

In this their latest project Chemical have combined the clothing they stock with their favourite artists. Since the start of the year they have been filming artists from the dubstep and drum and bass scene.

Video lookbooks is an obvious next step up from print but what Chemical have done is involve some big name and up and coming artists to perform whilst wearing current looks. This is a great way too reach out to a specific audience.

So from a customers point of view you are getting an exclusive performance and a good look at the clothes in real life form.

Here is a small selection from series which they are showing through some of their sites...

MC Chico/10 Deep

Metabeats/The Hundreds

Caveman/Mishka

Whether or not you like the clothes or the artists Chemical Records deserve props for trying something different. Expect much more from the gang soon.

Like the whole idea... like the garms like the retailer.. MC's and DJ's are alright....
But i dont see this pushing forward the sales of clothing to anyone but a bunch of teenyboppers.

selling to teenyboopers is what people want.

thats why you start a brand, to blow up and make doe!!!

Really great idea. I think qith some slightly better brands and some better artists it could be pulled off amazingly.
Still credit to chemical for having the initiative!

if you wanna blow up like some sort o ugly kids club?!

rather keep the brand fresh and niche and make even more doe keep respect!

bruv, dont talk bollox.

its not about getting "respect" for catering to fan boys who wanna keep things to themselves. its about money. money makes the world go round and your girl go dowwwn.

if you think you and your pratty mates are the only people to know about things that are "underground" your wrong.

teenyboppers make you what you are.

caveman seems hard indeed

bobble hats and check shirts is a shit look if you take it out of the street context. against that white background the MCs look like dweebs.
Nice idea by chemical records but they should have thought of something more original rather than assigning to the check shirt and bobble hat trend.
I agree- this campaign is only gonna pull in teeny boppers who want to wear the uniform

so what you rtrying to say is the only people that make streetwear brands money are teeny poppers? the same teeny poppers that are linking your chick. Come on now behave. We all know about business and we all know that aint the case. I agree its a bit of the revenue but certainly not all of it
