The news came this afternoon that after a 14 year innings, Mary Anne Hobbs is sadly moving on from Radio 1 to take up her new teaching post at The University of Sheffield's radio station.
Mary Anne Hobbs's weekly 'experimental' show has been an incredible source of promotion for a huge spectrum of musicians over the last decade.
Most notably it is her passion and promotion for dubstep that has undeniably helped in developing its reputation in recent years.
Her very last broadcast will be on Radio 1 on Thursday, September 9th from 2am - 4am. That is quite obviously a moment not to be missed!
Out to Mary Anne Hobbs each and every!
The very best of luck to her in the future!

From Radio 1 to Sheff Uni radio. Nice.
Maybe it was her dedication to promoting Dubstep which has led to her being forced out of Radio 1.
