Cool Kids, for 'The Cut'

I was frantically brought into the fray in a last minute manner, after the original photographer flopped and disappeared, without explanation.. It all begun on Monday when I got a message from Vanessa saying she had a friend in dire need of a photographer for some pictures for an upcoming magazine.. I of course greenlighted this request and spoke to Tamara shortly after about what she wanted the pics to be like.

So, today I met Tamara at 11:30 in Brixton, as the interview was scheduled to be held in the Bon Marche centre.. and we were told we'd have 40 minutes with the Cool Kids.. things started shakily as we went the wrong way out the station, after a few confusing interactions with the Brixton locals, we asked a police officer where we had to go, and made our way about 15 minutes late and slightly panicky that we'd lost time off our allocation.. When we got there however we learnt the Cool Kids were delayed themselves so we took a seat in the interview room and waited (and waited.) An hour passed and they arrived..

The interview went really well, and all of the questions were answered quite fully and intelligently.. I'll take this oppurtunity to shout out Tamara, she's only 17 and in the last forthnight she's interviewd Bashy, Slash from Guns 'N' Roses and The Cool Kids - takes me back to my own squandered youth.. But nah, Tamara is really moving. She has a video podcast, a blog, a music myspace - she's a singer/songwriter/journalist/host.. she goes by the name of Shamz Le Roc - the Le Roc part being taken from her sister Kelly Le Roc. And for the way she conducted herself in the interview you wouldn't believe she was 17.

Anyway, the interview kind of went on longer than expected, with more detailed answers than were forceasted, and my planned composition could not run, so just got some very basic shots, which I'm quite happy with all the same.. so all worked out well.. Take a look at the watermarked photos.. I know there's some sharks watching this blog, so this one's for you.
